Isotop is a private family-owned company founded in 1974. The Isotop laboratory is authorized by the State of Israel and the Ministry of Economy’s Standardization Supervisor, and is accredited by the Israel Laboratory Accreditation Authority.
Isotop’s professional journey began in 1974 with a unique device that measures ground density compression. This device was unique in Israel at the time, forging a breakthrough in the field of paving in Israel by significantly reducing costs for companies and contractors in national projects of all scopes and sizes. Looking back on 50 years of continuous operation, Isotop is, without a doubt, an early example of a successful Israeli Start-Up.
Over the years, Isotop has invested in the development of its professional capabilities. Today, the company conducts compatibility testing for a wide range of standards and specifications, throughout the entire building or paving project lifecycle, from the initial planning stage to the end of construction and authorization by the different authorities.
Isotop’s services are an integral component of both small and large-scale national projects, from private home building to grand-scale national initiatives such as the construction of new ports throughout Israel and train projects in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area.
Isotop performs a wide range of tests in diverse fields – concrete, land, construction materials, chemicals, fuel, nondestructive testing, building systems, asphalt, environmental sustainability, building finishing, anchors, calibration and many more.
The company has played a part in the success of Israel’s largest projects, including Ashdod Port, Haifa Port, Tel Aviv’s Light Rail, The Jerusalem Light Rail, Highway 6, the Eastern Railway, Ayalon Highway, Ramon Airport, sites used by the Ministry of Defense and many other major initiatives.

Isotop’s history, from inception to becoming the largest accredited laboratory in Israel:
- 1974: Isotop is established as a laboratory for land and paving testing.
- 1990: Isotop receives a special “accredited laboratory” status in accordance with the standardization law, and performs compatibility testing for standards in the construction and paving industry.
- 1995: With the establishment of the laboratory accreditation consulting committee, Isotop is certified in accordance with ISO 17025 and ISO 17020 requirements (comparable to ISO 9000).
- 1997: The National Authority Certification Law is legislated, and Isotop becomes the first private laboratory to be certified in Israel by law.
- 2000: As the largest laboratory in Israel, Isotop possesses the widest range of expertise – concrete, raw materials for concrete production, construction materials & products, steel for concrete, building systems, wood carpentry for buildings, gas installations for residential buildings, land & roadways, bentonite, fire extinguishment & rescue systems, playground systems, Pal-Kal ceilings, land surveys, special drillings, external calibration, and more.
Today, Isotop is Israel’s largest accredited laboratory in Israel, and operates 11 branches nationwide.
